Aftercare Services

We are better together.

Our aftercare services provide a supportive, safe and sober environment where men can practice the tools they’ve learned in their recovery journey thus far.

Sober Living Homes

Our network of sober living homes is the heart and soul of our community. Men come to live with us in our sober living homes as a next step after completing a substance use treatment program or detox.

Each home houses six to eight men, and locations are scattered throughout residential areas in Northeast Florida with many located in Jacksonville. All Project Save Lives homes are smoke-free residential facilities.

Structure and Stability

A stable and structured environment is important for recovery. Within each home, we provide routines and support for our men. As soon as we’re able to, we also hope to offer access to both individual therapy and group therapy. The current routines we have in place are designed to align with proven elements of recovery and sobriety.

  • Self-evaluation
  • Group evaluation
  • Intervention
  • Continuous learning

Men will experience many aspects of living in a traditional home, including time management, relationship development, conflict resolution, chores, and an eating schedule. Together as a community, we focus on continuing our sobriety, using the tactics we learned during a treatment program and working toward goals for a brighter future.

Once welcomed into a sober living home, men can stay with us for as long as they need or wish to stay.

Career Development Services

As part of our aftercare services, we help our residents find and work through an internship, apprenticeship or other educational career programs. Our men work and participate in a career development program in order to save money for future independence while learning a marketable skill or trade. Vocations include:

  • Sheet metal
  • HVAC
  • Electrical
  • Plumbing
  • Carpentry

About the Opportunities

Career development opportunities may vary depending on the individual and will include options for those who have had encounters with the judicial system. Some career development programs will also necessitate that the men achieve certain milestones, such as completing a high school degree or GED program or issuance of a driver’s license and proven access to reliable transportation. We are dedicated to helping men to meet these milestones as best we can.

Career development can include programs or internships lasting as long as four years. Our men are welcome to stay in our sober living homes for the duration and beyond. Other educational programs leading to accredited certifications may be quicker to complete if the man can support themselves through existing resources or an external sponsorship.

Transportation Services

We saw that one of the biggest challenges to holding a steady job or completing a career development program was transportation. But we don’t want that to be the reason our residents can’t succeed. We are also committed to providing transportation to and from the worksite or school. A driver’s license is desired but not mandatory for participation.
